Achievement of high results in the study of a foreign language depends on the effectiveness of teaching methods. The program of English and other foreign languages at the Centre for Language Development is based on the modern communicative teaching methodology, which is currently considered to be the most effective in the world. It provides an opportunity to acquire sustainable knowledge, since the emphasis is put on teaching learners active communication with the language being studied and the development of such language skills as the ability to speak fluently and correctly and to perceive the fast speech aurally, the ability to use grammatical structures and vocabulary in situations of spontaneous use of a foreign language.

The training at the Centre for Language Development has been constructed in such a way that even at the initial levels our students not only read and write, but also speak a foreign language.

To make lessons more interesting and diverse, at various levels, various additional elements, audio and video materials help listeners to plunge into the language environment more quickly, develop linguistic thinking and overcome the language barrier.

The course of a foreign language is designed primarily to help the students achieve the required level of language competence, namely the ability to adequately perceive a foreign language aurally, correctly construct phrases in a foreign language, and have sufficient and extensive vocabulary. During the training, the emphasis is put on all the basic language skills, namely, speaking, grammar, listening, reading and writing.
